A warm welcome to my website. I am Donna Briggs, former Managing Director of a multi-award winning care provider rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC for being well-led and awarded ‘Platinum’ status by Investors in People.
Today, I lead Care Leadership Support, a coaching and consultancy service dedicated to helping care home, domiciliary care, and supported living providers overcome key challenges such as CQC compliance, financial performance, occupancy, recruitment, retention and leadership development.
I believe that building a positive, open culture and striving for continuous improvement leads to better outcomes for the people you support and improves staff retention and financial results.
At its heart, Care Leadership Support exists to help care providers create a values led cultures that deliver sustainable performance and meaningful outcomes for both those you support and the teams who care for them.

I appreciate how challenging navigating the social care operating environment can be for care operators. Through my GROW Programme, I will take time to fully understand your care business, your challenges and goals. My GROW programme can support you to GROW your CQC compliance confidence, GROW your bottom line, GROW your leaders and to GROW your team. I can work with you to develop and deliver (if required) a bespoke plan that will enable you to overcome challenges, achieve results and improve performance.
I hold extensive experience of due diligence from the buyer and seller’s perspective. This includes positioning care businesses for exit, supporting with the due diligence process and acquisitions. I can also act in a non-executive capacity or as an independent board advisor as required.
I offer a consultancy service to work alongside you and your team to improve the financial performance of your care service. This may be through improving occupancy (fees, enquiries and sales) and improving staff retention. I can also support you to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for your care business, along with processes to effectively review performance to help keep you on track.
Through my extensive experience of operating care homes and care services, I can provide a wide range of bespoke solutions to meet the needs of your care business. Should I believe that I do not have the knowledge to support you, I will signpost you to services that may be able to assist without obligation.

I strongly believe in person-centred practice and this guides me in my day to day work. Through my coaching style, I will strive to create an open, learning environment where people can grow and become the best versions of themselves.
From experience, I know first hand how holding a registered manager or nominated individual position in care services can become a way of life. Coaching with an independent, confidential critical friend, creates the opportunity to step away from the day to day stuff and to see the bigger picture, bringing to the fore solutions that may sit in our subconscious mind.
I hold an MBA and BA (Hons). I am a fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management with many years practical experience both as a coach and coachee, I am also qualified to level 7 in coaching and mentoring (CMI). Confidentiality assured sessions can be provided on an individual or team basis and can be conducted virtually or in person.

I can design a leadership development programme bespoke to the needs of your service. Development programmes can include practical exercises to develop leadership practice, coaching can be built into the programme providing ongoing support to your leadership team as they continue to develop their leadership in practice.
I am the former MD of a multi-award winning, ‘outstanding’ well-led and ‘platinum’ Investors in People care provider. I hold over 29 years’ experience of the social care sector (care homes, domiciliary care and supported living) at both operational and board level. I am passionate about working in collaboration to develop positive, kind cultures aligned to the values and vision of care services to achieve the ultimate outcome, to enhance the lives of people living and working in care, whilst improving financial performance.
